Online Facilitation Fundamentals: Facilitating Group Participation
In the United States alone, there are over 11 million meetings everyday. Research also suggests that between 25 and 50 percent of all meetings are poor; requiring more meetings than necessary. Meetings have a reputation for often being a waste of time and it is estimated that ineffective an unproductive meetings cost US businesses $37 billion each year. Employees spend an average of six hours per week in scheduled meetings and some organizations spend even more time in meetings.
Although there is a lot of opportunities for in person training on running effective meetings, there is a need for a self paced on-line interactive engaged learning opportunity for the beginning meeting manager, also commonly referred to as a facilitator.
The goal of this learning solution is to provide the tools, knowledge and confidence necessary to give the new facilitators the skills to be able to make meetings more effective, more productive and additionally more fun.
